Fiscal files, 1947-[ongoing]

Fiscal records (vouchers, purchase orders, service requisitions, payrolls, reconciliation records, etc.) of the Legislative Council. The retention of these records is determined by the "Accounting/Fiscal Records -- Statewide" records schedule (covered by RDA 81/048), with one exception, the payrolls (RDA 81/048-011). In approximately 1971, the Bureau of Personnel directed state agencies to retain indefinitely the employment records of unclassified employees. All Legislative Council employees are unclassified, therefore payrolls and employment records (personnel files) have been retained since 1953.
